One useful and important functionality missing in SharePoint Libraries is the possibility to cut/copy documents and folders from one Document Library to another.
The SPSProfessional Cut Copy & Paste Feature fills this gap to complement the default functionality, allowing Cut Copy & Paste management for documents and folders in the same or in a different Document Library and Site.
Installation Requirements
- The SPSProfessional CutCopy&Paste Feature works in WSS 3.0 and/or MOSS 2007
- Both WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 require SP1 (Service Pack 1)
- (MOSS 2007 requires both the WSS 3.0 SP1 and the MOSS 2007 SP1)
- SharePoint Administrator Account to install and activate the Feature
- Site Administrator Account to configure the Feature for the Libraries
Restrictions
- The feature can only copy files inside SharePoint.
Installation
See: Install SPSProfessional Solutions
Feature Activation
After completing the installation and deployment procedures, the Feature must be activated in the site. Using a Site Administrator Account, go to Site settings – Site configuration – Site Features and activate the SPSProfessional Cut Copy & Paste Feature
Usage
For Cut/Copy, select "Copy" or "Cut" from the context menu of the document or folder in the source Documents Library
For Paste, use the "Actions" menu in the destination Library or Folder, and select "Paste"
In Picture libraries the three options Cut/Copy/Paste are in the actions menu. When you select Copy or Cut actions all files selected are copied. To help you in this process we have included an option to unselect all selected images.
